How much is too much

Just this past Saturday, November 1, I took on too much. You see, we don't do Halloween, so we decide to have a Harvest Festival for the children at church, me forgetting I had to do a baby shower the same day. I was exhausted.

I got up around 6:00a.m. Saturday morning, did my meditation and read my scripture. Then I had to go to the store and pick up the rest of the supplies for the Harvest Festival. Went to the festival, had lots of Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun. Finished at 1:30p.m., and then I had to get everything ready for the baby shower at 3:00 p.m., games, gifts, and some of the food. Got to the shower and had a lot of fun. Wrapped it up around 6:45 p.m., sent everyone home and cleaned up. I didn't have to do much because it was at Comfort Suites, one of their conference rooms, so I didn't have to stack chairs or tables, thank God. I went home around 7:30p.m.

Came home to a house full of sugar - high children, I was so tired. I had to spend quality time with them. I think I finally went to bed around 2:00a.m., I'm not sure. I had to spend some time with My Knight, so we sat up and talked a little because I hadn't seen him all day.

We need to take time and realize that we can not do it all. WOMEN. We are extraordinary beings, that's the way God designed us, but he gives us wisdom to know when too much is too much. So we have to consider that we are super wives, mothers, friends, co-workers and so on, but we have our limits. We need to use what God gave us and take care of ourselves. That's why I'm going to do as the song says, One Day at a Time, and find my secret place in God. He will give me the peace I need to continue each day in harmony.

Potty Training 107

Have you ever come to the conclusion that you have reached your limit with potty training? Well, I think I have.
My last baby -a joy- is going through the routine of potty training. He a stubborn, unreasonable, smart, adorable little boy. At times I just want to go for him. But the issue is that he just wants to stay in that unreal form of underwear, called pull-ups. This boy has the nerve to ask for it by name. "Pull-up, mommy." He let's me know when he has to go, but when we get there, he just sits, for minutes on end, nothing, then his reply is "Done, flush!", and all I can do is say "Yes flush, and let's wash your hands." My goodness, he didn't even do anything. And on occasion he will let me know that he made a "poopy", after the fact that, the poopy is in the pull-up. Then he has the nerve to go get another pull-up and says, "Change! I poopy." My goodness, the boy is 33 months old. And all his other siblings, potty trainers #101-#106, were potty trained by the age of 28 months.
I'm thinking about putting him on a schedule, taking him to the toilet every two hours, with the help of his father. I think by us working together, we can get the job done before he turns three.
My schedule: Nothing to drink after 8p.m.
Take him to the potty before bed, 8:30p.m.
Around 10:30p.m., check to see if pull-up is dry. If dry, take him to the potty.
8:30a.m. Take him to the potty.
10:30a.m. Take him to the potty.
12:30p.m. Take him to the potty...
...and so on, and so forth, every two hours until bedtime.
Seems reasonable enough, but who can follow a schedule to a "T" but Martha Stewart?
And I'm not Martha Stewart, so I'm just going to work with him, with the help of his dad and big brother. With God's help, we will accomplish our mission.

Schedules

I'm one for getting things done, and when they don't get done I get so stressed (not) I have gotten better with arranging my schedule.
I remember when I just had three blessings I was the queen of organization, every thing was in it's rightful place, then number 4,5,6 and then oh so #7. The stress hit the roof, I nurse them all, so when you talk about sleep forget about it, I think was was running on adrenaline for all 7. I thank God I had the energy and the love to care for them.
So back to my schedules I have to do thing in a order that helps me get through the day.

  1. I wake up at 5:00 a.m. some morning its at 4:25 a.m. I think my body is still on nursing mode, cause at times I still wake up every two to three hours
  2. Hour of Prayer
  3. Read my two scriptures for the day, Proverbs 3:5,6 and Philippians 4:13
  4. Check on oldest daughter to see if she needs help with any thing
  5. Go to work on my schedule

The Time Goes By Fast

Today, I woke up kind of late and I notice not one child was up ready for school so I marked everyone tardy.
I left a letter stating that I was going to the store, and I wanted everyone life studies (chore) done. So I'm at the store not realizing what day it is, I see all these children, I'm wondering WOW! more families are homeschooling their children.
I got what I needed, and went back home still unaware what is today . So I cooked breakfast, got my 8 year old ready to go to the doctor for her well check up. Got to the doctor, got in the room quicker then usual, she past with flying colors, all test were great she was in great health.
We got in the car went home had lunch, getting ready for class, then my pastor came by and we were talking that lasted about 25-30 min, then my mom came by to get her blood pressure check, it was great.
So with all this going on I still didn't know what today was until around 2:30 p.m. No mail, children out of school, OH! it's Columbus Day, my 16 year old was saying mom that's what I was trying to tell you that we weren't tardy it's a Federal holiday, Thanks I went all day wondering why nothing was going my way, I didn't check the calendar. I'm thinking I had another week before Columbus day, time goes by so fast.

Hello Again!

I'm been away for a while, because of all the issues (drama) that has been going on in my life. But God is so AWESOME He's helping me the the crisis, and challenges that as been goin on in my life.
My TEEN has been on my back about driving, so I've been trying to teach her the best that I can. In our State, homeschooler parents can't teach without being a Drivers Ed certified teacher; in other words a paid Drivers Ed teacher. We have facilities, likes Sears, Bing's, and other but that's a $300.00 whop. So I'm eagerly trying to save some money so she can take the classes.
I really don't mind, though, because she is a very responsible, obedient child. "She deserves $10,000,000 for all her hard work, which will pay off in the end (she's writing a book! Yay! And it's comin' along great! Yay!)." My daughter wrote the line within the quotation marks. TEENS!!!
Haaahhh! Love her though.
Well I'll be back soon with my Homeschool schedule, it's kind of challenging this year I'm teaching my four year old, so that leaves my two year old along with his stuff. The grades I'm teaching this year is 11th/12th, she determined to graduate in 2009, a 7th, 5th, 3rd, and 1st, along with my preschooler, whew! My day starts at 5:30 a.m. the blessings 6:00 a.m. My Knight 8:00 a.m. most mornings. Post you soon.
